The beginner path
Canvas, holes, thread, and what one completed stitch actually covers.
Size, mesh count — holes per inch — colors, and the time to expect.
Printed canvas, thread, a blunt tapestry needle, instructions, and optional support.
Set up comfortably and begin with a reviewed thread length.
The small diagonal stitch that covers one canvas intersection — with a diagram and a reviewed demonstration.
Secure the end, undo a mistake, manage a tangle, and recognize what’s normal.
Finishing — the process that turns the canvas into an ornament, framed piece, pillow, or another final object.
Each step opens as a real lesson once it’s written, beginner-tested, and reviewed by a needlepoint teacher — and a visitor can move from “what is this?” through their first stitches without hitting a dead end. Progress you can trust beats a roadmap that only looks finished.
